Today is my third month in Taiwan...
Went to join Dr. Wu lab meeting in the afternoon, because the MCB class was cancelled. They were using mandarin for all their presentation... :s
It was a hard time for me to understand their work, the science behind it, and the chinese scientific terminologies... I was lost in the middle, hear come hear go hear no road, then following back when Dr. Wu made some comments... Everyone has to present their results and she will criticise on the findings and sometimes scolding or advising them sacarstically... After that, two paper presentation was done... Ah..! All together 5 hours sitting just listening to many new things and yet have to be concentrate throughout the event.., it was tiring then.., but i suppose that would be a good training for me.

Passed MCB mid-term exam

Yeah!! I passed my Molecular Cell Biology mid-term exam... The passing score is 70, and i got 76.1... Haha..!
Only 13 out of 21 in the class passed...
This morning received a call from Agilent Technologies, the representative told me that i've won an iPod during their online survey questionaire... So they will bring the iPod to me tomorrow and do some verification... Really??!! Tomorrow will know whether it's true or not...

Today finished seminar... Oh... (^^)V
I was too nervous at the beginning of my presentation, my hand is shaking while holding the pointer and looking at the "script" at the same time... Then i decided to throw the "script" away, then everything ok and I felt more confident in delivering the topic and answering all the questions...
Too many things have to know on Dengue virology, so many unexpected question, luckily PIs are answering most of them (They know i don't know the answer...:p)... Read more and more...
Ha, now feel relief, just have to worried for the MCB final exam... Hehe...

Finally i finished the assignment...yeah..!!
Later will go to meet Phang Chee Hoong.., another friend from Malaysia...
Let me count how many visitors i have so far... 1) Lee Weng Wah, 2) Chan Chee Wai, 3) Cheong Kae Shyang, 4) Sunny Yau, and now 5) Phang Chee Hoong... Actually i cannot explain why, may be many Malaysians are visiting Taiwan every year...
When we back to hotel, we saw many people are lining up along the corridor... Really so crowded... They are waiting to enter the Lucy, because today is the "Single or Bachelor" Day... (Don't know why choose this day...:S??) There are lots of singles in Taipei, the events is sponsored by Yahoo!, if not the tommorrow seminar, i think i'll go register online and line-up together to join the crowd...
Tonight will concentrate on seminar preparation for tomorrow...
Please don't ask any difficult questions.., ok?

Today whole day staying in the room reading the paper for assignment... what to comment about for the paper? Can i just modified the discussion of the paper? The discussion also stating the keypoints of the study what... Ok, i know what to do, just like when we do assignment during undergraduate study.., but then cannot simply bullshit, she knows her stuff well...

Yesterday was late to seminar..., OMG, never being that late before, more than 40 minutes... (+_+)...
Today went to see Dr. Wu for the presentation slides... Luskily this time i've improved a lot, but still need to find out lots of unknown facts... She is patient and taught me many things that i don't know.., so nice...

just managed to finished the power pioint slides...and then straightaway went to see Dr. Wu...
I have to admit that i didn't prepare for the script, making me so unorganised and didn't deliver the message during the first draft...
Thanks a lot for being so patient, Dr. Wu. She is really nice, patient and ask many provocative questions to clarify my mind and understanding of the paper. I felt very bad like wasting her time by not preparing well...
I will improve this Friday.
Still haven't look for a paper to comment and write a report, have to hand-up next week leh..., same day with my presentation... (-_-)

Aiya, finally i forgotten to bring my room key... Just realised that after getting small money change (to be inserted to the washing machine) from the dorm security guard..., so have to go to the security guard at Academia Sinica... When returning the key, the uncle advice me to remember to bring the key next time, i told him i was hanging all the while except just now, then he insist to give me his ID card cover for me to keep the key card... Thanks ya...
Prafulla told me i looked like a kid from far in the gym...trying to do weight lifting with a skinny arm... Her labmates even doubt that i had finished my MSc due to my baby face... (-_-)
Have to do the powerpoint draft for Dr. Wu to see on Wednesday...

This is my first time having birdday at oversea... :)
Many thanks for calling (William) and sending sms (Fish, Ethan, Liu Hao, Sze Tat, Wai Kit (Jeff), Koh Mee, Wing Hong, Chee Wai (Ray) to me since 0000 hr...:p
So happy that you all still remember...
Actually yesterday the exam was tough.., not so confident when looking at the questions... But then later everything went well as manage to write the answer for all essay questions, and i found that my answer was quite similar to my friends when we discussed after the exam...
We were having simple farewell party with Muugii after the exam at dormitory lounge.
After that, i went out to meet Sunny at his hotel... We bought 2 slice of cakes and ate them in his room... Haha, what a simple celebration... Never thought that this is how i "celebrating" my birdday with my good friend from Malaysia...
Today went to National Yang Ming University with Jessica and Cheng Hsun to send some documents... Not a good place to go, on mountain area and the building location are too far apart and located on highland... Luckily we are driving... Jessica treated us coffee and waffle after that...

Two more days to mid term exam....
Seeing those MM students studying and discussing at lounge area at the dormitory making me to tense...
So bad to hear that our Mongolian coursemate Moogii going to defer her study for a year.., so we are deciding to farewell with her after the exam this Thursady... She will leave on Friday i think... All the best and see you...

Oh, just sent Chee Wai to bus station, he is going back to Malaysia today.
No more Taipei tour, have to study, concentrate... Back to old study time, really wish Steven is with me.., we usually call each other...

"Yes ah, so little jah... Me too!!"
"Really??!! Hahaha...."
Then both of us feel relief... Stupid...

Beitou Hotspring and Fisherman's Wharf

Went to Beitou Hotspring with Chee Wai...
So cheap, NT20 only...
So many people there, but most are uncle and aunty...
There are few pools,the hot pool (40-42C), medium hot pool (~37C) and cold pool... We have to wear swimming trunk... It's a natural hotspring, so it has sulphur smell on the water. Actually the proper way to enjoy hotspring is like doing heat-shock transformation in lab, prewarm in medium hot, then back to cold pool, then to hot pool till you cannot stand the heat (it is advisable to soak the whole body into the water), then back to cold pool to cool down, then back to hot pool and cold pool again till your back is feeling hot... (Many plasmids should have been transformed into my body, but my cells are not competent... hahaha!) Eventually even my whole body feeling hot espeially the limbs but not the back, when your back and shoulders started to feel hot, it was very comfortable and relaxing...
Then to Fisherman's Wharf at Danshui... Just a normal bridge, but the environment was very romantic, a must-go place for loving couple...
We walked for so far and feel tired, so we took bus aong the way back...Back to Danshui MRT station area for food.., then go back...
Very tired, but then still have to study for tomorrow seminar...
