Shilin Presidential Residence, National Palace Museum, and Shihlin Night Market

Today went to National Palace Museum with Chee Wai...
We stop by at Shihlin MRT station to have out lunch at the market place around, then went to Shilin President Residence... We mistaken that was the museum, so just walk around the garden there.., it was the residential area for Chiang Kai-Shek and Soong Mei-Ling last time, so big the garden area... After that, we took bus to the museum...
The National Palace Museum is considered one of the world's five most important museums. There are more than 650,000 items of Chinese art and artifacts covering 5000 years of history, from Neolithic times down to the end of Qing Dynasty... The treasures include bronzes, porcelains, jades, sculptures, paintings and caligraphy. I wonder why ancient people are so intelligent, their culture and living style at that time really reflects their intelectual level... Finally we knew the mystery of bronze through the animated displays... It was worth as the entrance fee is NT100 only, we just pay NT50 for having YTC tag... The ticket entitled us to go for a second visit for free by the end of 2006.
After that, we visited the garden beside the museum and proceed to Shihlin Night Market for our dinner...
We bought a fried chicken chop (actually not so tasty but don't know why so many people are buying), tried Tau Foo Fah (Ipoh one nicer frankly), fried oyster egg and mee suah... Actually food there "normal" like what we have in Malaysia, just it looks like a "supermarket-sized hawker food parade" tempting us to try everything... Finally we ended our dinner by a dessert called "mian mian bing", it's vanila snow like ais-kacang, the snow melts in your tongue right away... so special... Expensive lah of course...
We were so tired and went back after a long walk at the night market area...
